Gundam Releases a Video on Hope for the World

A special video was released on the YouTube channel by the Gundam series team on Wednesday. The video embodied the message of hope in mankind's ability to persevere through difficult times by coming together. While the audio of the video is in Japanese, subtitles were available in English, Korean, Chinese and Japanese.

What did the video feature?

The video features various characters from the Gundam series through the ages and enacted scenes that signified the existence of hope in humanity. We see Gundam's protagonist Amuro Ray voice, "I can see them. I can see people's warm and strong wills." His rival Char Aznable in agreement, states, "There's nothing more precious than people caring about each other. And if everyone were able to do that, then maybe we could say that humanity was strong." As their dialogue takes course, they assert that ability to move earth lies within humans through united will and empathy.

Soon, the video oscillates between scenes from the Gundam series and characters such as Banagher Links, Mikazuki Augus, Setsuna F.Seiei, Heero Yuy, Kamille Bidan and Hathaway Noa affirming that they've heard the message and will move forward with one will.

The video then flashes between later Gundam series, with Banagher Links from Mobile Suit Gundam UC, Mikazuki Augus from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, Setsuna F. Seiei from Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Heero Yuy from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, Kamille Bidan from Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, and Hathaway Noa from Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway all conveying that they have heard the message and will move forward with one will.

The video also features the theme song, "The Beyond" by rock band Luna Sea - a song composed to commemorate Gundam franchise's 40th anniversary.
