Funimation Will Stream By the Grace of the Gods Anime on October 4
On Friday, Funimation revealed that it will commence streaming the anime By the Grace of the Gods (Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko) adapted from the light novel series written by Roy and illustrated by Ririnra. The programme will stream on October 4 at 11:00 a.m. EDT. Funimation began streaming the second promotional video with English subtitles. It originally premiered in Japanese on Tuesday.

In Japan, the anime will premiere on TV Tokyo on October 4 at 11:30 p.m. It will also feature on Amazon Prime Video and Abema in Japan at the same time. The series will then open on BS Fuji on October 6 and on J:TV on October 7.
Funimation serves as the co-producer for the anime and it premiered the anime's first episode during the FunimationCon virtual event held on July 3.

The anime director is Takeyuki Yanase (In Another World With My Smartphone, If It's for My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord) who will be working at Maho Film. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Black Clover, Dropkick on My Devil!) serves as the story editor and screenwriter for the anime. Kaho Deguchi (If It’s for My Daughter, I’d Even Defeat a Demon Lord, Cutie Honey Universe) holds the position of character designer and is also serving as the chief animation director. While, Ririnra is credited for the original character designs. The music composer is Hiroaki Tsutsumi at Landis and Masanori Tsuchiya is directing the sound at AMG studio. Satoshi Shibata holds the position of art director and Aki Watanabe serves as the color key artist. Yukina Nomura is the compositing director of photography.
The main voice actress of the anime, Azusa Tadokoro, will perform the opening theme song, 'Yasashii Sekai' (Kind World) whereas MindaRyn, a popular Youtuber/cover artist is performing the ending theme 'Blue Rose knows' as her debut single.
The manga adaptation of the novels was launched by Ranran in Square Enix's Manga Up! App in November 2017. Square Enix Manga & Books licensed the manga and thus, will release its first volume in November 2020.
The story follows Ryoma Takebayashi, a lonely man, who led a miserable life filled with hardship which is put to an end when he dies during his sleep after an unfortunate accident. In the afterlife, Ryoma is greeted by three God's who grew affectionate towards him and sent him to another world as a child, where he utilizes his innate knowledge and abilities along with the blessings of the three Gods to attempt a hand at a new kind of life filled with challenges and happy encounters.
The light novel began serializing on the "Shōsetsuka ni Narō" (Let's Become Novelists) website in 2014, before it ended and was relaunched with a new version of the story in 2015. The new serialization is still ongoing.
